Lesson Two What Good Am I? You may think God doesn’t love you. You may think He can never use you. I thought God would never love me; I just knew He would pay me back one day. I got married to my husband, Tim, at the young age of nineteen. I got pregnant: it should be a joyous time for my husband and me. Well, I thought that if I loved this child, just when I did, God would take it from me. I had such a warped belief system of God. I didn’t know who God was. I was an emotional wreck after that. I thought God could never use me. My suffering lasted for over eleven years. I remember in my lowest time thinking, “Is there really a God?” So one day, I said to God, “If you are real, here is my life take it.” I found out how real He really is. Then I found out that Jesus suffered for me on the cross so I didn’t have to suffer any more. I found a relationship with Jesus: He did love me and forgave me as far as the east is from the west. Tell me, how far is that? Maybe you have another area in which you need to hear that God does forgive you as far is the east is from the west. After hearing that, my whole life turned around. In the Word, it says when the Son has set you free, you are free indeed. Well I am FREE…… I never knew what God’s Name meant and how awesome He was! He actually knows the number of hairs on each of our heads. Matthew 10: 30 For someone to know the number of hairs on your head, He must think you are really special. I found out that God from the beginning of time knew me and gave me gifts and talents to be used by Him. Today, I am a Christian counselor; I am married to a pastor. Who would have thought way back then, that God would love me and use me like this. OLD TESTAMENT NAMES FOR GOD When one looks at all that God is, one stands in awe. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned, but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
